Course Content:
The course focuses on the notion of the Constitution and the relation with the State and sovereignty. Furthermore, we give emphasis to the fundamental principles of the Constitution, in particular popular sovereignty, representation, the parliamentary principle and the separation of powers. Extensive reference, both from a theoretical and practical standpoint, is made to the organs of the State: the Parliament, the Government and the President of the Republic. Moreover, we analyze the concept of constitutionalism as a modern phenomenon and stream of ideas, in other words the background of the concept of Rule of Law, implying the judicial control of the political power.
